Her talents include working with behavioral problems in dogs and training dogs for the disabled. Her skills also include working with people towards grooming competitions and certifications. Hayley works diligently to provide an outstanding learning experience for her students, with a facility designed for the student's comfort and needs and the newest technological equipment to prepare their graduates for success in the working world. Most importantly her students consider her a friend.

Hayley's long time love of poodles has grown beyond companions and those that she has loved and cared for during her ascension through the ranks as a highly awarded competition groomer and has stepped into the conformation ring with all of the flare and success that is expected of Nanhall and made great strides with Ch. Kaylen's My Name is Barbara and continues to astound the poodle rings with the magnificent Ch. Nanhall's Casanova DeMaya.

Charlie has already proven his prowess in the ring exhibiting tremendous movement and presence even placing above the bitch ranked #2 in the breed at the Carolina Kennel Club show in Greensboro in Nov of 2008. Ch. Hikel Terrydale Memoirs Of A Geisha, her Lakeland Terrier "Goo Goo" really struts her stuff! Her ring career has been glossed with Group wins and was ranked # 8 Lakeland Terrier in Dog news for 2008. With the potential in this little powerhouse of a dog you can certainly look forward to seeing tremendous successes in the future!

Hayley's work consists of how to handle and settle dogs on and off the grooming table using "soft-touch' techniques, proper body language, and creating a comfort zone for the dog. Many do not know how to approach a fearful and/or aggressive animal. Hayley teaches groomers and trainers not only how to work with their dogs, but also how to modify their own behavior to quickly achieve a understanding with each dog, enabling them to perform their job on a safer and more effective level with less stress to them and the pet.

Many groomers are not aware of the importance of the structure of the dog. Learning the assembly of the dog, his angles, the lay of his bones you can connect the dots of the angles and create a pleasing and balanced design with snap-on combs or scissors. This knowledge of structure combined with understanding the standard of the breed, will actually make your grooming easier and faster.

With many years in the show ring and as a competitive groomer, Hayley understands the does and don'ts. Do you know how they get that dog to stack? Is he paying attention? Are you showing off his best features? What is your attitude in the ring? Are you dressed to Win? Hayley will show you the proper show stack for the ring, type of clothes that will show off your dog and the Etiquette for the show or grooming ring. Types of dogs needed and the condition of their coats prior to the contest ring. This includes how to hold the lead, place the feet and Showing off your Dog.

The International Professional Groomers team
will be offering a breed profile program that will benefit every groomer. Whether you want to be the best you can be; prepare for the contest ring; or would like to become certified, this workshop is perfect for you.

The IPG team will groom at least two breeds and will discuss breed profiles of several more. We will discuss the benefits of certification and explain how the practical tests are conducted and evaluated. There will be a discussion on the types of dogs needed and the condition of their coats prior to the test, plus skills needed to certify.

Slow down and be a little less demanding of your doggie clients and it will make your day go much easier. Let Linda and Hayley show you some ideas to help dogs relax and behave while in your shop. Good dogs make happy groomers. Learn handling techniques to make Cockers a pleasure to have in your salon. New puppies coming in for the first time, aggressive dogs, scared dogs.

Hayley and Linda will show you Hands-on techniques that will make grooming safer and calmer.
